AAEP Foundation/ALS ScholarshipSince 1989, the AAEP has collaborated with the American Live Stock Insurance Inc. (ALS) to
offer scholarships to fourth-year veterinary students who have indicated a strong desire to pursue a career in equine medicine at schools nationwide. Since that time over $300,000 has been allocated in financial assistance to veterinary students. With the introduction of the AAEP Foundation in 1994, the AAEP's contribution toward this effort is currently appropriated from the AAEP Foundation, Inc.Each accredited college/school of veterinary medicine may nominate one fourth-year veterinary student who plans to enter private equine practice. Eight $2,500 scholarships will be awarded. Respective colleges/schools must determine the criteria for nominating their candidate.
