Committees & Task ForcesCommittees
The AAEP has eighteen active committees that meet periodically throughout the year to discuss topics related to their respective committees as well as develop and implement initiatives to further educate the membership, industry and the horse-owning public. The current committees are:
Convention Review; Biologic and Therapeutics Agents; Educational Programs; Equine Dentistry; Equine Insurance; Equine Welfare; Finance; Foundation Advisory; Infectious Disease; Membership Development; Nominating; Owner Education; President's Advisory Board; Professional Conduct and Ethics; Public Policy; Racing; Student Relations

Equine Dentistry Committee
The charge of this committee has been revised as follows: To investigate and oversee a mechanism for ongoing training in equine dentistry for both veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians; to encourage AAEP members interested in dentistry to pursue certification in recognized veterinary dentalprograms and to work towards a standardization of equine dental nomenclature.
