Core Competency and Best Practices ListAs a practitioner and as a former student, you know the importance of getting hands-on experience as soon as possible. That’s why you’ve opened up your practice to students who want to gain that crucial experience through the AAEP’s Avenues program. To help you structure your internship or externship, the AAEP has developed two tools for you to use: the Core Competency List and the Best Practices List. The Core Competency List is a resource developed by AAEP members to provide a cohesive collection of skills and experiences students should have before graduation. The AAEP encourages you to use this list to further enhance your internship and externship opportunities to maximize the educational value for students. The Best Practices List is what you can use to make the overall experience as positive as possible. The AAEP membership has developed this list to help practices who want to grow their internship and externship programs. Incorporating these features into your program will make your internships and externships stand out and increase satisfaction among the interns and externs you have working with you. |
