The AAEP offers a discussion list for members only who wish to discuss items relating to equitarian efforts with other members. The discussion list is automated e-mail discussions designed for interactive discussions with peers. The discussion list is designed to improve communication among like-minded members, offer a forum for exchanging ideas, and allow you to benefit from the experience, knowledge and wisdom of your peers.

How to Join

Members of the AAEP with e-mail and web access can participate in the e-mail list. You may choose to use either the e-mail address that is on file at the AAEP office or another valid e-mail address. If you choose to use the e-mail address on file, you can join by clicking on the Manage List Subscriptions link below, but to use an alternate address, please contact Amity Brannock at abrannock@aaep.org. All members of the Equitarian List are expected to read, know and abide by the AAEP's Discussion List Rules.

If you are using the e-mail address that you have on file with the AAEP, you can join the Equitarian Discussion List and change your settings by following the steps listed below.

Steps to Join

1. Click on Manage List Subscriptions to access the list subscription and settings page.
2. Use the check boxes to choose to "Subscribe" or "Unsubscribe."
3.Use the radio buttons next to each subscribed list to choose a subscription option. The options are explained below:

• Mail = receive messages as they are contributed
• Digest = receive one daily message with all the contributions for that day
• Index = receive one daily message with only the subject lines for that day
• No Mail = receive no mail from this mailing list (great for when you are on extended leave or vacation, and this option still allows you access to the list archives)

4. When you are done, click the 'Save' button at the bottom of the page. To prevent viruses from infiltrating the lists, only plain-text e-mails are allowed to be posted to the discussion lists (i.e., no HTML text).
5. You can click on the Manage List Subscriptions link at any time to change your setting options or unsubscribe yourself from a list.

If you choose to use an alternate e-mail address, please contact Amity Brannock at abrannock@aaep.org and she will be able to subscribe/unsubscribe and set your personal preferences for the list.

Sending a Message

• To reply to messages you receive from the list, be sure that the send-to address appears as equitarian@list.aaep.org.
• To post a new message to the Equitarian Discussion list, use this address: equitarian@list.aaep.org.
• Avoid resending the entire message to which you are replying by cutting and pasting the relevant parts into your response. And, please do not resend a digest back to the e-mail list.
• Using the reply button in your e-mail application will automatically send your response to the entire list. To reply directly to a member of the list, forward the e-mail and copy and paste his or her e-mail address into the "To" line.
• Identify yourself with a signature tag in all messages.
