Scholarships AAEP/ALSIC Scholarships-Since 1989, the AAEP has collaborated with the American Live Stock Insurance Company (ALSIC) to offer scholarships to 4th-year veterinary students who have indicated a strong desire to pursue a career in equine medicine at schools nationwide. Since that time over $300,000 has been allocated in financial assistance to veterinary students. With the introduction of the AAEP Foundation in 1994, the AAEP's contribution toward this effort is currently appropriated from the AAEP Foundation, Inc.
Each accredited college/school of veterinary medicine may nominate one 4th-year veterinary student who plans to enter private equine practice. Eight $2,500 scholarships will be awarded. Respective colleges/schools must determine the criteria for nominating their candidate. Applications are to be received by Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the AAEP office.

Winner's Circle Scholarship
Presented by the Race for Education, the AAEP Foundation and Platinum Performance The Winner's Circle Scholarship Program is designed to encourage and support veterinary students intending to enter equine veterinary medicine, to reward leadership and participation in Student Chapters of the AAEP (SCAAEP) and to help offset the escalating cost of veterinary education and minimize debt load at graduation by providing financial aid to students in their fourth year of veterinary school. These scholarships will benefit deserving students through partnership between the AAEP Foundation and The Race For Education. The goal of this program is to award one scholarship per year to a deserving student at each of the 34 Colleges of Veterinary Medicine throughout North America and the West Indies that sponsors a national chapter of SCAAEP.
