ManualAAEP AVENUES AAEP INTERNSHIP ORIENTATION MANUAL The following outline is format for creating a manual for your internship program. Your practice may already have a manual, but if not, you may find this template a useful format to provide information to the intern when they are accepted into your program. This format is made to include information that may be found in an ambulatory practice, a hospital practice or both. Some wording has been provided for some items. Providing part of the medical record and business office forms with this orientation manual may be helpful in familiarizing the intern with the practice procedures. These may suit your practice or you may want to change the wording to be specific for your style of management. Those items, which are not related to your practice, can be deleted from your manual. This manual is an effort by the AAEP to help practices listed as part of Avenues to have successful internship programs. This manual is one way to help prepare your new intern for their year in your practice. Please make suggestions about how this manual format may be improved to better serve internship programs.
