Participating in a Discussion List

Automated e-mail discussion groups are designed for interactive discussions with your peers. These lists are designed to improve communication among like-minded members, offer a forum for exchanging ideas and allow you to benefit from the experience, knowledge and wisdom of your peers.

The AAEP currently hosts lists for the International Equine Ophthalmology Consortium, the Virginia Association of Equine Practitioners and the Western New York Equine Practitioners.

How to Send a Message:
  • To post a new message to the IEOC list, the address is ieoc@list.aaep.org.  The address for the VAEP list is vaep@list.aaep.org.  The address for the Western New York Practitioners list is wnyequine@list.aaep.org. It is helpful to save the address is your address book.
  • When a message is posted to a discussion list, each person subscribed to the list receives the message.
  • To reply to messages you receive from the list, be sure that the send-to address appears as "list name"@list.aaep.org.
  • Avoid resending the entire message to which you are replying by cutting and pasting the relevant parts into your response.
  • Using the reply button in your e-mail application will automatically send your response to the entire list. To reply directly to a member of the list, forward the e-mail and copy and paste his or her e-mail address into the "To" line.
  • Always identify yourself with a signature tag in all messages.
