Resort Symposium Optional Tour Offerings

An Invitation to Discover

With its artistically crafted coastline, navigable waterways and emerald mountain peaks, the island of Kauai beckons visitors to experience its age-old beauty. The AAEP has arranged for opportunities for meeting attendees to see the island’s scenic treasures by land, sea and horse. Each of the following tours will be offered Tuesday and Wednesday during the Symposium. Tours are an additional charge and must be scheduled by Jan. 13, 2012.

Scenic Valley Beach Ride ($135.00 per person)
Minimum of 14 participants; Maximum of 24 participants

During this tour option, you’ll journey on horseback through the ancient region of Maha’ulepu for an expansive view of the island’s varietal terrain. The tour will last two hours. The group will depart at 2:00 p.m. Please note that the weight limit for this tour is 250 pounds and children under the age of 8 are not permitted. The tour will depart from the hotel at 2:00 p.m. and return at 5:45 p.m.

Waimea Canyon Tours ($80.00 per person)
Minimum of 15 participants; Maximum of 25 participants

Find out why Kauai is called “The Garden Island” during a bus tour that takes you through the Waimea Canyons, known as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific.” This spacious mini coach bus will stop at many of Kauai’s most glorified inner island attractions, including Hanapepe Valley, Old Russian Fort and Waimea Town. The tour will depart from the Marriott at 1:30 p.m. and return by 6:30 p.m.

Catamaran Sail ($120.00 per person)
Minimum of 20 participants; Maximum of 49 participants

Many of Kauai’s stunning vertical cliffs, mystic sea caves and crystal waterfalls are only visible from the ocean. During this tour, you’ll witness these natural wonders of Kauai’s Pacific “cathedral” on a catamaran cruise along the Na Pali coastline. You’ll be touring during the prime of Hawaii’s whale season. Enjoy appetizers, beer, wine or a Hawaiian favorite Mai Tai cocktail while you relax on board.

Please note that this tour is not recommended for guests with neck or back pain or recent medical conditions. The cruise will not stop for snorkeling or swimming. The tour departs from the Marriott at 2:45 p.m. and will return by 7:30 p.m.

Additional activities will be available through the Marriott Tour Desk. Please contact personnel at the AAEP Registration Desk and in the Marriott Lobby for more information.
