Student Member Benefits
The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) is dedicated to helping you reach your goals in the equine veterinary world by providing many of the tools you will need to become a successful equine practitioner, researcher or leader in the profession.
AAEP national student membership is open to students enrolled in a college or school of veterinary medicine.

- Learn about the latest veterinary techniques and research at the AAEP’s many continuing education events, including:
- The Annual Convention, which is the largest meeting of equine veterinarians in the world, hosting over 130 hours of hands-on wet labs, classroom-style seminars and small discussion-oriented forums about equine veterinary research and techniques as well as professional development;
- The Focus Meeting, which deals with a single equine medical issues (e.g. colic);
- The Practice Management Seminar, a small, informal meeting about all of your most challenging business management issues, such as collections, compensation and technology updates;

- The Markel Insurance Company/AAEP Foundation scholarships to fourth-year equine veterinary students ($2,500);
- The $1,500 Winner's Circle Scholarship, presented by The Race for Education, platinum Performance and the AAEP Foundation, is awarded annually to one fourth-year veterinary student at each university that has a National AAEP Student Chapter in North America and the West Indies. Qualified applicants may also be able to access an additional $3,000 in support through a related program.

Please note that AAEP student members do not receive a print copy of Equine Veterinary Education (EVE) research journal and cannot participate in some programs at the AAEP Annual Convention.
