Join us in Barbados for a luxurious and relaxing getaway, while earning continuing education hours that you need. Barbados is a British-influenced, English-speaking Caribbean island with a calm west coast and a ruggedly-beautiful east coast. A place where refined luxury and exceptional culinary delights dance and mingle among lush tropical greenery, limpid blue waters and warm golden sunlight.

Program

The complete program will be available soon, but below is a preview of our expert speakers and topics they will cover.

Dr. Dickson Varner will cover stallion reproduction plus an interactive case discussion

Dr. Debra Sellon will focus on weight loss in horses. This interactive session will be a three-hour, case-based lecture on weight loss in horses with an emphasis on a practical approach and efficient interpretation of clinical pathology.  Dr. Sellon will present a framework for working up the horse that is presented for evaluation of weight loss but has no other prominent clinical signs to lead to a quick and easy diagnosis. The emphasis is placed on getting to an appropriate diagnosis with relatively little discussion of treatment.  In three hours Dr. Sellon will cover the big three (nutrition, teeth, parasites), chronic infectious/ inflammatory diseases, organ failure, gastrointestinal disorders, and muscle wasting disorders. This includes discussion of most aspects of a CBC and serum chemistry profile as well as a few other less common clinical pathology tests.

Dr. Katherine Garrett will discuss imaging
