2008 Equine Veterinary Wet Labs

The AAEP is proud to present Equine Veterinary Wet Labs 2008. This hands-on event is designed to deliver the ultimate CE learning experience featuring small-group settings and leading instructors from equine practice. The wet labs will be held as a stand-alone continuing education meeting at the world- renowned Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky.
 
Wet labs are only open to veterinarians, except the dentistry lab, which will allow licensed veterinary technicians to attend with their employing veterinarian. Beginning August 4, any remaining spots in this lab will open up to technicians. T

Important Dates:
  • Remaining spots in the Dentistry Lab will open up to technicians attending with their employer August 4.
  • In rare instances a lab may be cancelled if there are not enough participants. The decision to cancel any lab will be made August 4.
  • Registration deadline is August 15.
  • In order to receive the group rate on lodging, hotel reservations must be made by August 20.

Dental Radiology-Case Reviews 
Thursday, September 11: 7 - 9:00 p.m.
This discussion is open to all wet lab attendees free of charge. The Dental Radiology-Case Reviews will take place immediately following the welcome reception. Attendees are encouraged to bring cases for discussion. If you would like to participate, please bring radiographs and other pertinent information such as history, photographs, etc., in a digitized format such as a CD or USB memory stick. Each case discussion will be limited to 10 minutes. If you would like to attend this discussion, please mark it on your registration form. If you would like to present a case, contact Debbie Miles, meetings coordinator, at dmiles@aaep.org  for more information.

Lodging:
Lodging for the wet labs will be provided by the Radisson Plaza Hotel in downtown Lexington. Room rates are $139/night plus local taxes for a single/double room; $10 per additional person. Rate includes full breakfast for both September 11 and 12. The Radisson also provides complimentary shuttle service to and from Blue Grass Airport. Travel Information
Sitting on 1,224 acres in the heart of the Bluegrass, the Kentucky Horse Park, home of the FEI Alltech World Equestrian Games 2010™, offers state-of-the-art facilities for conducting wet labs. The park is located four miles north of downtown Lexington off of Interstate 75. Air travelers can fly into Lexington’s Bluegrass Airport or choose the airports in Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky or Louisville, both of which are a convenient one-hour drive from the park.
Note to air travelers: It is recommended to call the AAEP office at (800) 443-0177 before making your flight reservations. In rare instances, a lab may be cancelled if there are not enough participants. The final decision to cancel a lab will be made August 4.

Purpose:
Wet labs offer the ultimate in up-close, participatory education, and each lab works with small groups to ensure an optimal learning experience.
